Tips on how to make the community can save excess energy when all activities outside are limited and when activities outside the home begin to be phased in.
The modern society that we live in today almost always need electricity. Electrical energy in our lives becomes an inseparable part of our daily activities. During this pandemic, the growth in electricity usage is increasing. Due to mainly fossil-based energy supply, we must save our energy usage. How should we use energy, how to save it, and what we can do to transition to sustainable energy using technological innovation? To answer these questions, the Faculty of Industrial Technology in collaboration with the Faculty of Earth Technology and Energy held a webinar with the theme "Sustainable Energy with Innovation”. This activity is held online on Monday, June 15, 2020 starting at 13:00 Western Indonesian Time.
We are honored to be accompanied by speakers from several technology companies in Indonesia. The first speaker ibu Miss Fitri Rarna Amalia as PLS Corporate Planning PT Indonesia Power, bapak Arbima Busro from Medoo Geothermal Sarulla, ibu Mira Meirawaty lecturer in Geological Engineering Department, bapak Havid Pramadika lecturer in Petroleum Engineering Department, and ibu Dianing Novita NP lecturer in Electrical Engineering Department. Joining this event, approximately 100 people from various backgrounds such as high school / vocational high school students, representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, representatives of PT Pertamina, and several others. The theme discussed in this online seminar is how to get energy from its source which is then processed until the community can use it in everyday life. The speaker also shared their tips on how to save energy when activities outside the home begin to be phased in if the pandemic condition going back to normal.
In addition to discussions on fossil-based energy, this discussion also discusses about the potential use of new and renewable energy, among others, based on solar power, and wind power.
